Product description
A Super Premium coffee is born in Puerto Rico - 1839
The Coffee of Popes & Kings Awaits
Coffee arrived to Puerto Rico in 1736. In the 19th century coffee became the first agricultural product of the island. By the end of the century, Puerto Rico was the sixth largest exporter of coffee in the world.
In 1839, Alto Grande became a reality. Since then, it has delivered unparalleled quality and taste to the Royal Courts of Europe, the Vatican in Rome, and to the rest of the world.
Harvested Alto Grande coffee beans
As market leaders, we recognize that in addition to harvesting a high quality product, our commitment is to the community.
In 2014 we launched our project 'Sembrando el bien' ("sowing the good") to reaffirm this commitment. This project focuses on 4 elements that are essential to conserving the coffee industry:
Alto Grande Super Premium Coffee is known as “the very best” because of its unique Arabica beans grown in the most ideal soil, climate conditions, and processed to precise standards.
The Hacienda Alto Grande was established in 1839 in the Buenos Aires and Santa Isabel sectors of Lares, Puerto Rico, and since the early 19th century has been producing one of the world’s finest coffees.
Earned for being grown at altitudes around 4,000 to 4,500 feet above sea level. At these heights the Arabica beans mature at a slower pace and grow to be harder and denser, leading to unsurpassed consistency and taste. A truly desirable result by any coffee lover that can now be a part of your familia.
Processed in our Alto Grande Hacienda, an unparalleled place and well preserved estate deep in the central mountain range of Puerto Rico, the tradition of coffee craftsmanship coexists with the most sophisticated coffee processing system in the world.
There are only three Super Premium coffees in the world and Alto Grande is one of them. Our unique combination of fertile soil, climate, shapes of valleys, know-how, and craftsmanship of locals combined with cutting-edge technology brings you one of the highest quality coffees you'll ever taste.
