Types of Coffee Grinds
SUPPORT OUR FAMILY-OWNED, SMALL BUSINESS
The fine grind, or Espresso grind size, has a look and feel like sugar and is used for espresso machines. Espresso machines build up pressure that forces water through finely-ground coffee. The fine particles allow for a quick extraction, producing a concentrated and intense espresso shot. Due to its smaller size, it's crucial to maintain proper brewing parameters to avoid bitterness.
Our Drip grind resembles regular sand and is best used with traditional drip coffee machines. It offers a versatile option that works well for everyday brewing. This grind size allows for a moderate extraction rate, resulting in a well-rounded cup with a pleasant balance of acidity and body.
Our French Press Grind is a coarse ground coffee that has the consistency of sea salt or rough sand. Coarse grinds require extended brew times and are typically used for brewing methods that involve immersion in water. Grinding coarse coffee keeps a lot of the bean intact, preserving its flavor/aroma, and thus resulting in a robust and full-bodied coffee.
