All of Rise Yaupon's teas center around Yaupon Holly, a plant native to the Southeast United States; it is the only naturally caffeinated plant in North America.
Yaupon tea has over 8,000 years of consumption (twice as old as Chinese teas). In recent times, there has been a resurgence of interest in Yaupon tea, driven by its unique taste, natural caffeine content, and health benefits. Here at Rise Yaupon, we are working to revive its rich history and celebrate its cultural significance.
Rise Yaupon uses Yaupon Holly tea leaves that are harvested by hand. Our Florida-based team then washes, sanitizes, dries, grinds, blends, counts and packages each pouch. We take great pride in producing high quality tea, that is truly hand-crafted.
Yaupon Holly teas have little to no tannin (a molecule found in the leaves of traditional teas that cause it to go bitter). As a result, you can't oversteep your Rise Tea blend in time or temperature. Use boiling water, keep your teabag in your cup and get 3 nice servings from each teabag, just keep adding more boiling water.
