What sets Turkish coffee apart is not the unique brewing method but a whole world of flavor, preparation, and cultural significance. Turkish coffee holds a special place in the hearts and traditions of many cultures, particularly in the Middle East, and of course, Turkey. More than just a beverage; it is a symbol of hospitality, social connection, and a way of life.

Turkish coffee is distinguished by its strong flavor and particular preparation: coffee beans, such as the Arabica varietal used exclusively by Selamlique, must be ground extremely finely. This ultra-fine grind ensures that the coffee fully dissolves in the water, resulting in a rich and intense flavor. Once prepared, it is characterized by a full-bodied and intense flavor profile. The strong flavor, slightly reminiscent of espresso, is complemented by a rich, velvety texture.

Presentation and serving style are all part of the ritual and tradition of Turkish coffee. It is served in small, handle-less cups called "demitasse" cups, which are smaller than regular coffee cups. Turkish coffee is preferably sipped slowly, without a hurry, and served with no sugar, but a small piece of Turkish delight. If sugar is preferred, it must be added whilst brewing the coffee.
